Operational Newsletter
Royal Arctic Line has just announced that implementation of joint services under the vessel sharing agreement with Eimskip has been postponed until sometime in the first quarter of 2020 due to, among other things, delayed delivery of the new ocean-going vessels. Furthermore, Samskip’s appeal against the Vessel Sharing Agreement has just been determined in Iceland. The decision of the Board of Appeal favoured the continuation of the Vessel Sharing Agreement.
Because operation of the vessel sharing has been postponed until the first quarter, we are attaching the interim sailing schedule which will be in force. This sailing schedule is for the entire first quarter and will be used until a new sailing schedule is issued with e.g. changes that take the Vessel Sharing Agreement into account.
• Note that from voyage 1949 in the first quarter, nine and twelve-day intervals will be in force until vessel sharing is implemented during the first quarter.
• Note that we will attempt to make trial calls in Disko Bay every third week in the first quarter of 2020.
• Note that the feeder services are carried out by one feeder vessel
The sailing schedule for 2020 has not yet been approved by Naalakkersuisut (The Government of Greenland) and is therefore not final. We will, of course, make an announcement as soon as we have a confirmed start date for vessel sharing and a new master sailing schedule. This is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2020.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers in connection with their transport plans with Royal Arctic Line. We are sorry that the planned start on December 6th 2019 could unfortunately not take place.
